Coloration phenomenon of mefenamic acid in mesoporous silica FSM-16.

Coloration of mefenamic acid (MFA) was investigated in the presence of mesoporous silica FSM-16 with 16.0 A (Oc) and 45.0 A (Doc) pore diameter. The color change of MFA/FSM-16 physical mixture from white to deep blue was observed by sealed-heating (SH) and the subsequent humidification (HU). The coloration and the color difference were caused by the changes of chroma and lightness. In the case ...

Efficient enrichment of glycopeptides with sulfonic acid-functionalized mesoporous silica.

This work presents an efficient and selective enrichment method for glycoprotein/glycopeptides with sulfonic acid-functionalized mesoporous silica (SBA-15-SO3H), which is synthesized via simple oxidation of -SH groups with H2O2. The functionalized SBA-15 shows large surface area and accessible pores, and can selectively adsorb glycopeptides via hydrogen bond and hydrophilic interaction. Upon th...

Mefenamic acid enteropathy.

The clinical, radiological, and histological features of two patients with severe intestinal damage induced by mefenamic acid and mimicking coeliac disease are described. Symptoms rapidly reverted on withdrawal of the drug, and in one case, did not relapse during treatment with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Spherical Crystallization of Mefenamic Acid

*To whom all correspondence should be addressed. he quality of a solid pharmaceutical preparation is influenced by primary micromeritic characteristics such as the shape and size of drug crystals, especially when large amounts of poorly soluble drugs are formulated. To improve the dissolution rate of poorly soluble drugs, fine crystals are preferred over large crystals because they provide a gr...
